G for Green Witch

Sometimes when you feel like you have been buried, you have actually been planted.

Grows lots of plants. Find their house cluttered with succulents and herbs. Their power grants them a green thumb so they never kill a plant

Green Witch:Is the practice of nature-based and earth oriented witchcraft, drawing on the folklore, folk religion and folk magic of ancient cultures as they connected to the forest; such as the tree worship of Druids, the kitchen craft of Italian witches or the keeping of sacred groves as presented in Gallic paganism. Green witches usually practice a traditional form of witchcraft in which the earth, trees, herbs, plants and flowers are consulted for their medicinal and magical value. They will grow their own herbs or Wildcraft them, and are very good at making herbal remedies. Belief in deities depends on the individual witch, though many Green witches acknowledge and earth mother or series of nature spirits as their deity. Usually, the spirits of nature, the dead (that of humans and animals) or the Fey have a large part in Green traditions. A form of green witchcraft which is better classified as Green Wicca was popularized by Ann Moura.

Green (Garden) Witch is a practitioner of witchcraft whose focus is on the use of natural items and places. The goal of the Green Witch is upon achieving magic through communion with Mother Nature and using Her energies. A Green witch is very similar to a Kitchen/Cottage witch with the exception that the Green witch practices in the fields and forest in order to be closer to the Divine spirit. The Green witch makes his or her own tools from accessible materials from outdoors. A Green or Garden Witch, that works primarily with floral materials and flowers in their practice is often called a Flora Witch and one who works with herbs and other plants a Herbal Witch.

Herbs & flowers for anxiety and stress, that also help with insomnia

Chamomile - this herb is anti-stress and calming, inducing feelings of sleep and relaxation as it rids you of anxiety and improves your mood. This herb goes well in a cup of tea with lemon balm, which is used to promote relaxation and improve outlook.

Lemon Balm - this herb brightens the spirit as it relieves anxiety and gives you a sense of calm. It soothes the nerves and relaxes, making it an excellent herb to add to a nightly tea. Some studies show that lemon balm reduces alertness and processing speed due to mild sedation, so it might be wiser to use it more during the evening and night.

Lavender - this calming herb soothes anxiety and induces sleepiness as it is very relaxing, so it’s a good herb for a nightly tea taken an hour before sleep. It also makes a fragrant incense and a good aromatherapy. You can try putting some lavender oil on your pillow.

Turmeric - an excellent anti-inflammatory herb. It calms anxiety. especially anxiety associated with chronically activated stress response.

Rhodiola - this is an adaptogen herb; therefore it has a direct effect on your stress levels and your ability to control and manage stress. Relieves anxiety and encourages calmness and relaxation as it reduces your stress and anxiousness.

Passionflower - this is used as a natural medicine to help anxiety. It has calming effects, which will help those who feel restless and anxious. It induces sleepiness, so you can try it as a nightly tea.

Reishi Mushroom! Calming and relaxing, reishi mushroom is a great thing for anxiousness (and specifically one of the best adaptogens for it) and anxiety that causes sleeplessness.

Did you know?

-Cacti are some of the only plants to photosynthesize from their stems. Their needles are really just modified leaves.

-Avocados are only around because people pollinate and disperse them by hand. The large seed is indigestible to small mammals now. It was originally eaten by giant sloths who would poop them out far away from the parent tree so they can grow. This is called an evolutionary anachronism.

-Banana candy does not taste like bananas because it was designed to taste like the Gros Michel banana which was eaten in the pre-1950s. It was wiped out by a fungus called panama disease. Since bananas are asexual all of them are genetically identical making it easy to wipe them all out at once. However fungus is sexual so it evolves more quickly. This means eventually we may lose the modern banana, the Cavendish, to it as well.

-There are actually three different types of photosynthesis: C3, C4, and CAM. Which type is used depends on the aridness of the environment, and are increasingly more efficient as listed.

-Moss is amazing. The fuzzy part of the moss is called the gametophyte stage and it is haploid meaning it has one set of chromosomes like a sperm or an egg cell in humans. If you look closely, sometimes you will what look like little tiny seeds on stems coming out of the main body. This is the sporophyte stage and it’s diploid, or has two sets of chromosomes, like our body cells. Moss is the oldest type of plant.

-You can usually tell what animal pollinates a plant by the color and shape of its flowers. Red flowers are hardly ever pollinated by bees because bees cannot see red well. Butterfly flowers have long deep centers. Bird pollinated plants can bear weight and are wide and open. Bat pollinated plants usually smell strongly and are darkly colored.

-Almost all American native elms and chestnut trees are extinct because of fungi. Asian chestnut and elm have replaced them, because they are resistant to the strains.

-There is a type of fern that has over 1200 chromosomes. For reference, humans have 46.

-If you shine consistent low level red light on a plant it will grow extremely tall, because red light tells the plant it is being shaded by and competing with other plants. If you shine consistent green light on a plant it will not sprout or die (if already sprouted) because plants absorb red and blue light to use. This is also why plants are green, because the unused green light is reflected back out.

Home Green Magick

-An apple can be used for a simple house blessing; cut an apple in half, and eat one half in your home. place the other outside, in the backyard or front porch, as an offering to good spirits for protection and warm energy.
-Bay leaves can be placed in the corners of a room to banish evil from it and protect those within it.
-A cactus can be grown near a house to offer strong protection; even stronger protection is gained by planting cacti at all for corners of the home.
-Planting catnip in the garden, or hanging it above your door, will attract good spirits and good luck.
-Chamomile can be sprinkled about in the home to break curses and unwanted spells cast on or in the home.
-Cilantro brings peace and harmony to a home.
-Clover can be sprinkled around a home to banish unwanted spirits.
-Garlic can be hung in a home to bring its inhabitants closer together.
-Ivy plants can be hung to deter unwanted guests.
-Lavender can be burned and its ashes sprinkled about to cultivate rest and tranquility within the home.
-Orange peel can be placed in windowsills to bless the house with angel and sun energy.
-Peppermint can be burned as a smoke cleanser to remove illness and negative energy from a new home.
-A sprig of pine can be hung in the home to bless it and its inhabitants.
-Sachets of saffron can bring happiness to the home.
-Thyme burned or hung inside brings good health to its residents.

Window Altars

One easy way to create an altar is to take up a windowsill. Depending on the arrangement of the room you’re using, your personal preference, and the space available, the size of this type of altar varies.

This generally small altar space can be good for witches in the broom closet and green witches who like to keep their altars populated with plant friends. Because it is literally a window to the outside, these altars are also great places for charging things like crystals, spells, and water under the light of the moon.

Benefits:

Good for altars that are heavily planted (hello, sunlight!)
Generally discreet
Keeps your altar space contained (for all us witches that do not know when to quit.

Garden Altars

While pretty much any altar can include plants, there is something else to say for an altar that is almost completely plants. If you have some space indoors, why not design a witch’s garden that doubles as an altar space?

A small tray planted with succulents with offering bowls and candle dishes set into the soil and crystals scattered around can be a unique, and even moveable altar! You could also use potted plants so that you can change the arrangement or plants out whenever you need a refresh.

Benefits:

Deeply connected to nature and the earth
Pluck herbs for spells right off your altar
Generally pretty moveable

Witch tips
-Remember to pay attention to plants as you would pets if you want them to thrive. wipe the dust off their leaves, spray them with water, spend time observing their changes.
-Growing basil in your kitchen wards away negativity.
-The best time to plant herbs is when the moon is in Cancer, Libra, Scorpio or Pisces.
-Garden Witch tip: During the season of May 1 - Summer Solstice plant a circle of Sunflowers during a sunset around the time of the full moon. Sow the seeds clockwise then pack the earth counterclockwise. You will be greeted by a rather pleasant energy.
-Grow basil in your kitchen to keep the space safe from negative spirits

Similar Witch types

Flora - Much like a Green or Garden witch, those who work majorily with floral materials and flowers in their practice and in their spellwork! Their grimoire may be heavily associated with flowers rather than herbs, and likewise, one might use flower properties in spell or craft work.

Garden - While having a garden and/or working in any type of garden; magick that is mostly (if not all) herbal and botanical-related! Garden witches take pride and find it calming or invigorating to work the earth, harvest that which they have planted, and are closely related to Green type

F for Fire Witch

the sound of wood cracking in a bonfire
ash covered hands
random burn scars, but you don’t remember how you got them
charging your crystals by leaving them by lit candles
the smell of fire salts
small bottle necklaces filled with ash
orange sunsets
always having a lighter, but you don’t smoke
clothes that smell like smoke
the rubber on the bottom on your sneakers melting
being able to put candles out with your fingers
going through two boxes of matches a week
taking a shot of fire ball whiskey to light your soul on fire
putting cinnamon and honey in your tea
orange cats
fire inspired makeup
the oohs and ahhs your friends make when you swallow a flame

Fire - Specifically centered on the element of Fire; Using anything fire-related (bonfires, candles, burning objects) in most spellwork, creating and using symbols associated with fire

Fire witch: a whole bunch of scented candles, the smell of incense, cozy warmth, dancing flames, jars of ashes, almost burning the whole house down

Fire is the rapid oxidation of a material in the exothermic chemical process of combustion, releasing heat, light, and various reaction products. Fire is hot because the conversion of the weak double bond in molecular oxygen, O2, to the stronger bonds in the combustion products carbon dioxide and water releases energy (418 kJ per 32 g of O2); the bond energies of the fuel play only a minor role here. At a certain point in the combustion reaction, called the ignition point, flames are produced. The flame is the visible portion of the fire. Flames consist primarily of carbon dioxide, water vapor, oxygen and nitrogen. If hot enough, the gases may become ionized to produce plasma. Depending on the substances alight, and any impurities outside, the color of the flame and the fire's intensity will be different.
-Wikipedia

Warmth, mystical, atmospheric. Fire is my element. Has always been. I have always been fascinated by it. I have my poi´s (the sound when you use fire poi´s.. ah) and I would really love to make my own candles. Fire is positive and lifting, but can be frightening if not controlled. When I moved to my apartment, I really fell in love it because of old stove that I have here. I dreamed firing the wooden stove every winter. But I haven´t used yet, not even once. This makes me sad but I have been so scared of lighting it because of the cats. I am afraid of them to jump on it and burn their little paws. I don´t have a kitchen door so...

Fire is known by many to be the spirit or the soul. It is a giver of life and creativity.

Many cultures has been worshipping the sun and the element of fire. The sun gave life but also fire can burn it as easily. Maybe this reason fire and sun has been seen as a purifier, loosing all the old and bringing life to the new.

Fire can consume everything in it’s path and it is the only one of the elements that cannot exist without feeding on something else. It offers warmth and cooks food, but can get out of control. It has the power to transform everything it touches.  It is the most physical and spiritual of the elements and represents magick itself. Fire is represented in the forms of burning objects, love spells (always preferably self-love spells), baking, and lighting candles and fires.

As the spark of life, it is vital to any form of elemental craft. An element of emotion, it represents the good (love, creativity, hope, passion) and the bad (anger, hatred, ferocity, blood lust, frustration)

This element should be respected and all it stands for. Be sure it does not consume that which it should not, as a bonfire would catch a dry field.

You know you’re a fire witch when…
-You have multiple scars from wax burns on your hands, but don’t really mind
-You make more eye contact than is generally socially acceptable
-Altar? More like candle shelf.
-Normal lamps are boring
-You take naps in the sun like a cat
-You would live at the beach if it wasn’t for all the sand and other people
-There’s like three different fire pits in your backyard
-"Need fire? I have it"
-Bonfires are life
-Fireplaces are life too
-You like to make your own candles

Fire Grounding

- To be done near a lit candle, or by a safe bonfire.
-Practice fire safety when doing this, and do not go too close to the fire! if no fire is available or safe for you, visualization is recommended
-Have a view/hearing of the fire to the best of your ability

Visualize:

The way the fire crackles and burns away at the wood or wick, the negative and stagnant energy burns away from you. it turns to smoke and dissipates into the air.

The inside of you is dark and empty. there are only ashes left behind, pure and still.

Each spark and flame fills you with new energy. the flames, their brightness and warmth replenishes and re-energizes you.

From the ashes a new flame is kindled within you, and it lives within your chest.

When you are ready, douse the fire you focused on in the appropriate method. you are not ending it, as the fire lives on it you, where its energies have spread.

Fire Witch: Enhance and Energize Yourself

Here are some simple tips to power yourself up for the day. (Or in general)
(Remember: Intent is very important)

Light A Candle/ Fire
Color doesn’t matter unless you want something special. Look into the flame. Allow the warmth of the flame and light fill your chest, your mind, hands, or wherever you need it. Remember to also take a deep breath.
This can also be used with open flames, like a stove, campfire, chimney, etc.
(Follow safety precautions with open flames)

Sunbathe
The luxury of AC can sometimes numb us or throw off our equilibrium. Early morning sun or sunset is best. When bathing, visualize yourself glowing and acquiring energy. Stretch your body and shake off empty vibes.
Early Sun- Used for renewal or change. Allow your inner phoenix/dragon to wake up and warm up. Also, use the cool air to fill you, so remember to breathe in. This could also be used for Blue Fires that do not like the heat.
Afternoon Sun- Since this energy is at it’s strongest, use this for short periods of time. Can also be used to charge certain things quickly. (Wear sunblock if you plan to stay longer!)
Sunset- Use to charge up before going to bed, or to keep you going for the night. Allow this diminishing light to erase your stress or to let go of physical and mental weight. Embrace the last few rays of light and incoming stars.
Moonlight- Technically, moonlight is still part of the sun. Also perfect for Night or Moon Witches that associate with Fire. Perfect for Blue Fires to charge up on this cool and soft light.

Light (Electric, Natural)
If you don’t or can’t use candles, use lights. (Christmas lights, LED’s, lightbulbs, lamps, solar-lights, etc.)
You can charge yourself up using different light sources. Might not be as powerful as the sun or fire, but it can work.
Decorate your altar, personal or holy space with lights and such.
Soak in the energy and vibrancy of light.
Use different colored light bulbs to match your tastes!
Looking straight into certain lights can hurt your eyes, so close your eyes and use your body to physically feel the warmth and radiance.

Colors
The very known colors of fire are yellow, orange, and red (Combinations with purple, brown, black, white or blue also work). Wearing or touching these colors can also give you a type of recharge. It can be used in blankets, bed sheets, towels, make-up, clothing, accessories, hair dye, body jewelry, etc. Believe that these colors can protect you and give you power.
If you like to be creative, use paint or materials to play with these colors.

Food/Tea
Known herbs associated with fire are: Basil, Bay Laurel, Cinnamon, Cumin, Juniper, Saffron, Rosemary, Rue, Pepper, Coriander. (Among others)
Foods that are red, spicy, or bitter.
Preparing food with these herbs can also enhance your energy.
Or drying them and keeping them in your altar or around you also work.
(Cooking food in itself is use of heat and energy. Use it to your advantage)

Burning
Sometimes burning things can help you lighten your energy.
On a piece of paper, write down your stress, worries, or anything making you feel negative. Fill a whole notebook if you need! Or keep it small, this is up to you. When you burn it, release the negative emotion associated with it. Allow yourself to feel lighter and at peace.
Burn incense and run your hand over the soft, delicate smoke.
(For more precise results, choose incense with meaning)

Water
Believe it or not, Fire Witches can also feel a longing for water. Warm water does a great job in helping you cleanse yourself or releasing mental weight.
Whether it be a warm bath, swimming outdoors in the sun, or even boiling water for tea, use the warmth and strength of the warm/hot water to help you relax.

Exercise/Meditation
Much like flames, our body requires us to stay active to allow energy to flow through us. You can go from extensive cardio, to simple workouts or stretches. Stand, sit, or lay down. Raise your arms, or legs, and stretch. Allow your blood to flow. Rub your hands together. Rubs your legs or thighs, arms, head, shoulders, feet. Fires use oxygen to grow, so raise your head and take deep breaths.
Meditate after stretching or vice versa.
(Dancing to your favorite music works too!)

Plants/Flowers/Trees
They need sunlight and warmth just like we do. Plant flowers, herbs or trees. I personally love daisies. (Plus, gardening can also be beneficial in several ways to you, the earth, and life. Good karma all around.) Once your flowers bloom, plants bear fruits or vegetables, or when leaves start sprouting, touch them and feel the energy they radiate. Go to parks, botanical gardens, garden centers, or take a walk. Spend time with plants and really absorb the power they carry. I love to put my forehead on the flowers, without hurting them, and fill my need of energy.

Candle Flames and how to read them in your spell work

A lot know about Candle magic as far as candle colors, but some may not entirely understand the meanings behind the candle flame itself. And the flame has a significant meaning when doing any spell work, Divination, channeling, even just speaking to spirits or guides. But not just the flame, the smoke as well, and how it burns.

I also see passed around that you must pinch out or snuff out the flame. Not blow. But I think it’s how you create the spell and the energy you put into it that matters most.

•Clean, good, burn- a quiet, decent flame, without much smoke, movement, and dripping is a good sign. The spell you are working on will go as expected.

•Small, steady, low burning- not as much energy is being used to create the spell needed. But this flame isn’t necessarily a bad sign. Try using more energy as you’re working on the spell. It will grow if the energy increases. If not, be patient, it may take a while for the results to manifest.

•Small flickering flame- this flame may bend a bit also. Your timing may be off or the spell you are working at may not have an outcome that will workout for you. If it drowns in the wax it’s not meant to be.

•Strong flame- There’s a lot of energy in your spell works and the outcome will be good and happen fast for you.

•Dancing flame- high chaotic energy is behind the spell work. Large=potential complications Small=overwhelming opposing forces. There could be outside forces working consciously or unconsciously against you. Just keep an eye on the flame for further signs.

•Flickering flame- If used in spiritual or religious work with God, Gods, Goddesses, Angels, Guides, then your invocation has worked and was acknowledged. It is also a sign a spirit is near. You may also use it for Divination and scrying.

•A flame that pops- more concentration and energy is needed in the spell work. But outside forces may be working against you if it’s uneven. The popping and noises mean that outside forces are communicating or interfering. If you hear other sounds than pops, listen as it may be outside forces like family or guides communicating.

•Candle goes out- This can mean only two things… one: an outside opposing force has ended it and so you should ground yourself and let it alone. It’s not going to happen. Or two: the spell or what you were working for has already been attained.

•Quick burn- there’s a lot of passionate energy in your spell work.

•Blue flame- A sign of spiritual presence, usually angels, and divine spirits.

•Red or Yellow flame- smaller but still powerful energy is fueling your spells.

•Candle will not light- The spell you desire to work on is unattainable at present. It’s outside of your control or may have already been decided. Not everything can be influenced by spells. Take some time to reflect on yourself on why you were stopped from attaining your spell work. Meditate, ground yourself, do a spiritual cleansing, do Divination and ask questions as to why you weren’t able to. After meditation, cleansing, grounding, you might be in a better mind frame to go forward with it again.

•Flame will not go out- YOU ARE NOT DONE. You are being told to go back. You either missed a step, a message, something along the way and need to do more.

•Dense Black smoke- Typically means negative energy. Meditate, ground yourself, and do a spiritual cleanse before continuing because there may be opposing purposes, forces at work, bad luck, and conflict.

•White smoke- signs of benevolent spirits and blessings. Sometimes it comes as a puff of white at a certain moment.

•Lots of smoke- The air element is at work with your spell. Watch the smoke to see if there are any signs for you.

•Smoke moving towards you- A good sign that you will gain what you seek. The exception is hex, vex, and negative spell work. If this happens or it fills the room, this is a sign that you will pay the consequences for your spell and there is no escape. Threefold/karma is tricky. And truly there is nothing that justifies any type of negative spell work.

•Smoke moving away from you- usually not a good sign in spell work as this means your loosing what you tried to obtain. But in healing and influence spell work, this is a good sign as it means everything is going according to plan. Watch the smokes direction, speed, and shape.

•Candle soot- You can actually read into your spell work by the soot left from your candle and flame. Black soot can be a sign of negative energy or outside interference at work. You want to read the amount and the locations of the soot to tell you the outcome. If the soot covers the entire surface, your workings have been foiled and you’ll more than likely need to redo it. If it’s only on the top, the obstruction has more than likely been overcome. White soot indicates spiritual assistance and communication.

Fire Witch Tips

-Birthday candles: if you don´t have access to large candles of every color then birthday candles are a wonderful substitute

-Tea light holders: another colored candle trick is that craft stores and dollar stores usually sell very cheap little tea light holders in a variety of colors that you can put plain tea lights in so that they act how a colored candle would in a spell(plus these are reusable and a lot cheaper than colored candles).

-Write wishes on bay leaves and then burn the leaves to make sure they come true.

-Candles have longer lives when they’re kept in the freezer.

-If you need a small boost of energy or a quick way to ground yourself on the go, carry a lighter with you and light it whenever you need. Draw on the energy from the flame to help you focus or do whatever you need.

F for Faery Witch

Faery (Fairy) Witch: An eclectic witch who seeks to commune with faery folk and nature spirits in their magick workings, spells and rituals. They have no organization or tradition and it has developed of its own accord through common practice. (Not to be confused with the 'Feri Movement'.) Usually, those who work with the fey may also leave offerings regularly, as thanks for the assistance of a faery in their spellwork. They tend to be lone practitioners unless they can find like-minded witches to practice with.

Faery witchcraft is a beloved relationship with one’s human community, but even more importantly, it includes the local plants, animals, streams, and hills in all their aspects (physical and spiritual), as well as the Gods who manifest through the land and through our flesh. Faery witches seek harmonious relationship with the land and people where they live.

At times, of course, seeking harmony may require conflict, as they are called to defend human or other-than-human beings in our community who are in danger. Faery Craft is a practical approach of work and collaboration with the Faery realm.

How to live like a fairy:

Fairy Folk And Their Kin

There are many types of fairy folk that are commonly experienced and fun to learn about. Here are few of my favorites I have tried to find for years.

Dryads

Dryads are the indwelling spirits of trees and are able to slip out of their  at trunks and limbs at night, appearing as tall, tree-like white or gray shadows in the moonlight. They silently roam through homes, specially ones made of wood or old ones where rough wood was hewn for posts and beams. While inside a home, they may stand at the window peering out at the moon lit night, humming softly, getting a new perspective of their own wooded habitat from interior spaces. They are kind, gentle, and grandfatherly.

How Dryads Help Us
Dryads want to keep the trees they inhabit healthy and looking good and are sensitive to all the creatures that depend upon them remaining well-rooted and stable, so they need our conscientious care and appreciation of trees. They do not like when limbs fall from the trees they inhabit and prefer that their human counterparts collect and branches and twigs that may fall (it actually embarrasses them or makes them sad to have their own dead branches beneath their canopy). Dryads appeal to us to help them maintain the base of their trunks keeping it all tidy and delightful, and will acknowledge our care for them in return by keeping us safe as best they can. Dryads will not allow the tree they lodge in, or its heavy branches, to fall upon homes or people if they can help it. And they often convey mystical messages to anyone looking up at them or caring for them in appreciation. Messages such as “It is time for you to move on in life,” or “Great change is coming.” Conversely, they will deliver messages you may ask them to send out, to change the weather or to send thoughts or warnings to loved ones.

How To Attract Dryads
Clear any underbrush and broken twigs or limbs from any trees nearby. Inspect the tree for damage, look closely at the bark and even place a rock circle at the base surrounding the tree to let your residential Dryads know that you are focusing on them and wish them well. Be kind to animals that live in their branches and don’t be too shy to talk, sit with, hug, or sing to trees that live among you. Try it and see what happens. These deeply compassionate, aged spirits are there to help us.

Elemental Fairies

The four elements are Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire, and they each have different attributes and personalities. So,too, do the fairies associated with each element differ in vast and small ways.

Earth Fairies

Remember playing in the mud as kids, maybe making mud pies or getting covered in it, and feeling happy to squish it between your fingers and toes? Fairies of the Earth are at work underfoot; they’re the entities that govern the turn of soil, helping the insects and worms that keep soil aerated and healthy. They encourage seeds, helping them germinate, and then coax the roots, urging them to have bold confidence to claim the soil for themselves. Earth fairies are stocky with dark green, clay red, or brown hues. They have wings that resemble beetles, shiny wings. They’re dense in appearance rather than holographic. They’ll brush against your ankles as you walk, playfully tugging at you through the mud or pricking your bare feet with tiny sticks or thorns, just out of rambunctiousness. They are seen best in the gloaming light at end of day, as  they like to catch a glimpse of the residential Fairy Queen who passes by in twilight.

How Earth Fairies Help Us
Earth Fairies know that we come from dust and shall return to it, and that all living things on Earth eventually break down into the soil, in one form or another. While we are alive, the Fairies of the Earth long to claim us as the Earth’s gravity and magnetic pull show us that our place is naturally the ground we walk on. They help us understand intrinsically that we thrive from the root  up, and need a foundational base in which to grow truly strong. The electrons and healthy bacteria emitted through the earth have great health benefits to us, shifting our moods and regulating bodily organs. Children instinctively run outside barefoot, and adults should, too! Earth fairies want us to be and feel grounded, to receive the gifts from the core of the Earth into our own core, and their mission is to give us reason to stabilize our lives through real depth; they want us to take root and know we belong.

How To Connect With Earth Fairies
Go outside as often as you can and walk barefoot. Try to get your feet against the actual ground, and simply feel yourself there, your weight sinking in or being fully supported by it. Earth Fairies will be present as you are infused with pure energy in the form of electrons, receiving and connecting with the biological rhythms of your planet. And don’t be shy about digging, tending to gardens, and reaching with bare hands into the earth. You may not be making mud pies or sand castles anymore, but there are great benefits of getting dirty and standing upon or getting into the rich soil.

Nymphs

If you want to be at your utmost desirable, Nymph vibes are there for you. Sultry, sensual, sexy, and most alluring are creatures known as Nymphs. They get our hearts quivering as they tease us with their mysterious charisma. Enchantment and starlight appeal is their essence. They’re seen in quick flashes of light upon water, or heard at times as whispering or gentle rustling in the night, like pillow talk whispers. They’re shimmery apparitions of lust and their giggles sound like one who has known desires fulfilled. They may inhabit land, forested areas, rivers, trees, and even more cultivated areas of orchards, loving to roam on high in the groves of fruit or nut trees. Their loveliness gives wisteria and lilac their beguiling aroma.

How Nymphs Help Us
Similar to Mermaids, Sirens, and Selkies, these nature spirits express a sexual fecundity that permeates matter. They are shy but curious, playful and uninhibited in their seductive temptation and will charm you into your best, most captivating self. Fruitful, young, budding, and irresistible, they appeal to the passion within those they encounter. Humans may find themselves as if in a dream or with ravenous appetite for pleasure when Nymphs are near. Sitting quietly in the shade of a tree near a gentle spring, that sense of yearning and longing for love and fervor for life may peak within when a Nymph sets her gaze upon you. Nymphs want you to fall in love and have love.

How To Attract Nymphs
When you have a keen desire to be loved and to love another, Nymphs will draw near. If you wander through a wood or nearby a spring or brook, singing softly about love, Nymphs will hear you and follow. Where there is a desire for love and ample sexual tension, a Nymph is not far off. See and especially touch everything outside, the leaves (are they glossy or velvety?), the flowers (are they satiny or plush?), and close your eyes as you feel the contour of rocks and the limbs of trees. Everything is sexually charged in a Nymph’s world, and reacquainting yourself with textures is primary to stimulate your carnal nature. Nymphs wake you up to love making, and generously tantalize your basic sense of pleasure.

Hags

These fairies look like old women, and the term is often used interchangeably for spirits as well as for human crones with magical powers. Folklore often holds them responsible for nightmares, and some stories say they sit on sleeping men’s chests, causing a feeling of immobility known as sleep paralysis. In other tales, hags transform themselves into beautiful young women and sneak into men’s bedrooms at night as succubi to have sex with sleeping mortals.

Hags turn up  in the myths of many cultures, as the Irish banshee, Eastern Europe’s Baba Yaga, and Japan’s Onibaba. Perhaps the most familiar hags in the English-speaking world are three witches in Shakespeare’s Macbeth, who chant “toil and trouble”. while stirring their strange brew. Although folklore acknowledge their powers as healers, sometimes linking hags with Hecate and the nature goddesses of winter, neither mythology nor modern literature has much good to say about these beings. Like witches, hags for centuries have been portrayed almost universally as ugly, evil creatures who consort with the devil and other demonic forces. This misconception may have contributed to the murders of countless human women and children in Europe and the American colonies from the fifteenth through the eighteenth centuries.

Meditation: Get Into A Fairy Reverie

We want to have knowledge of our natural world, of the land, the stars, and the tides, but even more so, to revel in how it makes us feel as it powerfully draws us forth, to swim, to play, to immerse ourselves as we once did as children. We climb summits to feel a stronger, triumphant sense of self, and we explore caves to go deeper into what is not commonly known or experienced, Nature becomes symbolic of and entwined with our inner knowing and concept of who we are, and that inner knowing tells us the spirit of life is inherently one and the same as fairy life. It is mysterious and ethereal, likes us, even more than we are physical.

The realm of fairies is open when we allow ourselves a more fluid sensibility and acceptance of it, simply being in and with nature, to allow love to freely flow to and from our hearts, overriding our impulse to mentally control, characterize, and classify everything. Inhabitants of our environment beyond our textbook labels will tell us who they are if we listen and watch with a hint of expectation. This is not a mental process so much as an intuitive opening through creative, imaginative interplay with nature. However, this is not to say that fairy ways are only whimsical or trifling.

Fairies are fun, yes, and jocular and frolicsome, yet in their way they are very serious, somber, and tempestuous. They’re as changeable as the weather. Inwardly, we know we must respect nature and the power within it to aid us or destroy us. Fairies are one with this natural momentum of the elements as we watch it do what it does. Fairies are playful and high-spirited, but not to be disregarded. As has been passed down to us through time, we know not to tick them off, these fairy folk- there is mischief in them when we do. They are not just passive presences, they are a prevailing life-force energy that we cannot deny, and yet they’re elusive. Being engendered into fairy wisdom takes a willingness to open and develop the inspired, visionary, artistic, and mystical mien of our human essence.

We need a little bit of daring and a lot of friskiness mixed with quiet awe to engage properly with fairies. Fairies are entities that baffle, confuse, delight, and even aggravate, agitate, and throw tantrums until they get their way. They are the energy of “the will to thrive,” and that’s spunky. Fairies are helping life prosper, by aligning with it to funnel beauty and longing and love into each living particle. Watch anything grow and you will recognize it; you’ll see tenderness, innocence, and also a dauntless presence of flourishing zeal. All growing life knows no other than to strive to prosper. Fairies are made of this abundant spirit of life. Look at a leaf as the sun bathes it. The leaf is more than willing to receive all it needs and ask for nothing less. The sun gives all it has to boldly give. This same simple determination to blossom, bloom, and triumph is fairy essence.

For this boldness, fairies are often seen as demanding and spoiled, full of spite if less than desired is given. Fairies , in their machinations, want what they want. A fairy will demand whatever it may need to survive and anything else it wants is expected to be given (for optimal blossoming, and more)- or else!

Rose petals for attracting faeries and their loving guidance
Dandelion fluff for increased psychic ability
Elderflower to produce dreams of the faerie realms
Lavender to attract faeries
Daisy petals to create psychic awareness of nature spirits
Chamomile for attracting wealth- essentially the spiritual essence of “shiny things” that are known to attract faeries
Wormwood to induce visions and calling up spirits (Please add a very tiny pinch only of this, it is toxic in large amounts)
Rose essential oil for psychic visions
Olive oil carrier
miniature jar or bowl

In your jar or bowl mix your olive oil and rose essential oil. No need to go overboard with the rose oil, just add a few drops until it becomes fragrant. Mix your herbs into the oils and seal your jar. It will be fine to use straight away but it will become stronger over time. Leave out in the moonlight on the next full moon for added strength.  Dab on the third eye when you wish to communicate with the faeries during tarot readings, divination, and meditation.

Faery Witch Tip
Hold a magnifying glass up to your eye to blur your vision to help you to better see faeries. Something about blurring the world around you makes it easier to sense their presence.

Witch tip 2
If you don’t want to attract the fae, don’t buy too much honey at once.

Witch tip 3
Moon is the perfect time to connect with the Fae. The full moon awakens the spirit realm, strengthens intuition and deepens your connection to divine magick.
