Dark shadows and vanity table DIY

Feeling all victorian witchy today. Cleaning and decorating is so calming while watching Criminal minds, Hannibal movies and Dark Shadows, which I started to watch again. Only soap opera I am willing to watch! I love the mood in it and how every motion is so over the top and they need to watch in the great distance where nobody else doesn´t see.. Music is amazing and even though I already know the family secrets (because the movie and all) I still love to wait and see how Victoria reveals them.

I didn´t tell you guys that I got a chance to go botanical garden in Turku early in this year, I wish I would have took more pictures but what can you do.. It was so beautiful! This little pong even had koi fishes in it! I had never seen them before and they were huge, I wish I had pictures of them too..

And look what goodies I am getting this week! New little babies for my cabinet of curiosity (add zillion hearts here). The little batties are the ones I am waiting for the most, 2 skeletons and 1 dried one, so cute! All of these will look amazing in our bat cave. Little clocks will have transformation to new covers for few skeletons. Few years ago I had 1 globe clock but I think I throw it away accidentally..

My current painting project is my vanity table which I keep in the bedroom. I don´t use it that much and mostly it´s just covered well.. stuff. I decided to make it more me, so maybe it will be in more use. Mu husband found it for me and it is second hand, it was free. So only thing that cost in this DIY for me, is the paints, which I already bought for my other projects and didn´t use that much so this was perfect. Paint was dry after 2 hours and the big black one was so good one for this one. I even have still to paint something else! I still need to fix the drawers.. or maybe I want them to be ombre.. really can´t decide. I got the idea to paint insides red from GIY´s blog (which is amazing, go check it out). I have seen many others to do this too, but I think I first see it on there. Absolutely gorgeous dresser by the way. I think I want the ornaments or something beautifully detailed things in my vanity table too. And later on I am going to get new nobs, maybe crystal or victorian detailed, which I love oh so much.

Viikonloppuna pääsin kohtaamaan vielä yhden peloistani, hyvä että ehti vielä tämän vuoden onnistumisiin! Tämä pelko kohdistui alastomuuteen, naisellisuuteen, seksikkyyteen ylipäätään ja myös vähissä vaatteissa oloon (näistä kuvia tulevaisuudessa). Oletin koko tilanteen olevan mielettömän ahdistava ja että en olisi onnistunut kovinkaan nopeasti, varsinkin ottaessa huomioon viime viikon pahan masennusputken joka vaivasi jo vainaharhaisuus oireisiin asti... Setit oli silti suunniteltu tarkkaan jo etukäteen ja mentiin rennommalla otteella, saatiin rauhassa kuvailla ja kokeilla erilaisia juttuja. Heidi osasi jälleen ohjata tavalla joka sopii mulle parhaiten, samaten kehut saivat yrittämään parasta. Loppuen lopuksi saatiin montakin settiä loppuun jo alle kahdessa tunnissa ja oltiin muutenkin erittäin tyytyväisiä työn nopeuteen, onnistumiseen ja siihen miten hyvä fiilis koko hommasta jäi. Alastomuudesta ja herkkyydestä ei sitten tullutkaan minkäänlaista ongelmaa ja olo kuvaustilanteessa oli oikeastaan jopa rento ja rauhallinen. Aivan kuin tuollaisia kuvauksia tulisi tehtyä joka viikko! Koska yllätin pelkoni näin mallikkaasti, ehdottomasti aion rikkoa rajojani ensi vuonnakin. Innolla odottaen vuoden 2014 haasteita! Ei ole ainakaan alastomuus enää ongelma. Kumma juttu, mutta uskon tämän vaikuttavan jopa siihen miten onnistun kuvissa vaatteet päälläkin.

Onnistumiset, miten omituisen ihania tunteita ne herättävätkään.

Muista, voit olla paljon kauniimpi kuin uskotkaan.

Last weekend was big thing for me to face one of my biggest fears. Nudity. Even being sexy and all is difficoult, I really don´t see myself in that way. I am mostly only cute. So, when the time came I was thinking that this will be hard for me all ways bossible but life can be tricky! We planned carefully and when we started it was easy like I had been doing this for every week. Finally we got many ideas finished under 2 hours and we were both really satisfied what we had done. I didn´t have any problems and Heidi was really calm and help me for the poses the way that suits me and I really suprised how easy the whole thing was. Not a big deal! I am so going to face my fears in 2014 and I think this experience help me to me even better model when I have clothes on (or not, ha!). How strange feelings this make me feel, getting something done and be proud of it I mean.

Remember, you may be way more beautiful than you think.

And! Alice! In the movie, there is Goddess goodnes oh dear, even Mia. I am going to die happy now.

Halloween calender Day 21: Dark Shadows

Katsotko saippuaoopperoita..? Kaipaisitko salaiseen nautintoosi hieman lisää synkyyttä? Tälläinenkin vaihtoehto nimittäin löytyy. Vuodesta 1966 vuoteen 1971 tehtiin Dark Shadows nimistä sarjaa, jossa seurataan Collinsin epäilyttävää perhettä, johon kuuluu niin vampyyreita, noitia, kuin ihmissusiakin. Kiinnostuitko? Vietä Halloweenisi uuden suosikkisarjasi parissa. Minä ainakin olen koukussa.

Halloween calender Day 19: 30 day horror challange- My favorite vampire(s) movie(s)

Underworldit olenkin jo maininnut.. lemppareihin kuuluu myös Nosferatu, mutta en tiedä onko se sittenkään ihan lopullinen suosikki. Bram Stokerin Dracula (1992 versio jossa on mitä ihanin Gary Oldman!) on kans ihan mahtava (kirja oli muuten ensimmäinen vampyyrikirja jonka ikinä luin, siinä teille tän päivän fakta meikästä), League of extraordinary gentlemen (2003). Van Helsing (2004) on myös mitä ihaninta silmänannaa.. Lost boys on puhdas klassikko.. Buffy the vampire slayer on mahtava komedia (joka jakaa vahvasti mielipiteitä, varsinkin sarjan seuraajista). Dark Shadows oli mahtava, tosin ei ole vielä saanut sydäntäni täysin rakastumaan ykkössijalle.. Samaten Bladet on aika kovia. Mutta luulen, että valitsen yhden suosikkikirjailijani elokuvaversion elikkäs Interview with the Vampire. (Queen of the Damned soundtrack on muuten aivan mielettömän hyvä, löytyy myös levyhyllystä).

Koitanpa tässä lyhyesti tiivistää elokuvan hienouden. Joskin on vaikea keskittyä, H natustelee tuolla paperituppoa ja heittelee sitä pitkin poikin.. ja nyt kanniskeleekin sitä.. niin elokuvaan! Näyttelijävalinnat oli osuvia. Vaikka Lestatista annetaan täysin hömelö vaikutelma, niin täytyy sanoa, että annettiin kyllä kirjassakin. Jatko-osassa (kirjassa) kerrotaan asiat Lestatin näkökulmasta ja kuka tahansa sen lukenut on sitä mieltä, että ykkösessä Lestatista annettiin ihan nössö kuva. Juoni muistuttaa tarpeeksi kirjaa, tunnelmat ovat hyviä, elokuva aiheuttaa vieläkin monia erilaisia tunnetiloja, asut onnen huokauksia ja kaikenkaikkiaan vampyyrit on kertakaikkisen käheitä tässä. Olen aina rakastanut klassisempia vampyyreitä, nykyajan vampyyritarinat ei oikeen säväytä. Kenties se johtuu nykyajan pinnallisuudesta, silmänannan puutteesta tai ihan vain huonoista juonista.

Joskus lapsinäyttelijätkin suorastaan loistavat, pikku Kristen teki mielestäni elokuvauransa parhaimman roolisuorituksensa (olisiko ollut kaksitoista-vuotiaana) nukkemaisena, hemmoteltuna vampyyrilapsukaisena. Se miten Kristen sai rooliinsa yhdistettyä lapsen viattomuuden, uuden oppimisen halun ja myös henkisen kasvun vaikeuden oli ihailtavaa. Miltä sinusta tuntuisi olla ikuisesti lapsi, vaikka oikeasti olisitkin satavuotias?

But, Anne Rice is the winner, because her early books are so precious to me. I love the vampire chronicles, they are to die for. Lestat was even more awesome in book 2, but you won´t ever know that if you hadn´t read the books.. anyway, Kristen made her best movie being only 12 years old, she was so innocent, lusting life and new things and oh how she did so great job while she was growing an adult and still being dolly like little girl.

I love more classic vampire stories,  where everybody is wearing beautiful clothing, buildings are pure art and everybody speeks old English (I shall love thee for ever) and dance dance in great dance halls. Oh.. people knew how to party before..
